Engineered for Sony Alpha and FX lines, both the standard CFX-A and CFX-A PRO series unlock the full potential of the cameras, supporting all video codecs including the slow-and-quick modes in finest HD / 4K in XAVC S-I format which requires up to 890 and 1200 Mbps respectively.
CFexpress is an upgraded version of the CFast 2.0 and XQD. The main difference being faster speed.
Formally, CFexpress is a removable media standard created by the CompactFlash Association (CFA) in September 2016. The further CFexpress 2.0 standard was announced in February 2019, which includes three form factors defined in the standard (Type A, B and C). All form factors leverage the PCIe Gen 3 interface and use established NVMe protocols to offer better efficiency, optimized power and performance for professional imaging and video markets. The PRO version media contains much more NAND Flash memories than the standard CFexpress Type B cards, even though the capacity on the label doesn’t show the full capacity. With a lower usable capacity, it allows us to access the full performance of the card.
Through customized commands and firmware algorithms, it optimizes both endurance and performance in line with native SLC NAND. 10x lifespan, and 3x faster compared to consumer TLC NAND products.
Good luck, but that wouldn’t be wise. Size matters (Type A: 20.0 x 28.0 x 2.8 mm / Type B: 29.6 x 38.5 x 3.8 mm).
